OwlCent exists because most money content is either jargon or hype. We publish plain-English guides to budgeting, credit, investing and making money — written for real situations: irregular income, tight months, starting from zero.

How we work

Every guide starts with established research and primary sources. We use AI-assisted research with human editorial review on every piece, state our reasoning inside the article, and date every page. When facts change, guides get updated — not abandoned.

Our two house rules

First: every guide must include the trade-offs and a "who should skip this" answer. Advice that fits everyone fits no one. Second: we avoid numbers that go stale (rates, limits) unless we can verify them — and we'd rather tell you to check a primary source than guess.

How we make money

Some links may be affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Recommendation order follows our published math, never the payout — that rule is enforced in our editorial guidelines.

Who's behind it

OwlCent is run by Marc B., an independent publisher building this site with a lean, automation-first stack. We're small on purpose — and honest because it's the only durable strategy.

OwlCent provides general education, not individualized financial advice.
